LESSON 3

Lesson 3 – 16/09/10
In groups we looked at different school websites around Camden:
-        We looked at the various school websites and labelled what was good, bad and efficient about the websites and then ranked them. By doing this we were able to gain a sense of what a good school website should look like.
-          We also began discussing about Joel Sklar and his theory on the important areas of a webpage. We looked at a ‘map’ from his book:
‘Designing Web Sites – an illustrated introduction’
From looking at Sklar’s model we were able to understand the most effective areas of a webpage were to put the most important information.

(e.g.  top left corner – company/institutions logo, centre and right for important reading content)
